TOPEKA – Governor Laura Kelly announced on Friday nine appointments to the following state boards, commissions, and council.
Employee First Oversight Commission
Purpose: To make annual recommendations to the Governor, Legislature, and state agencies on strategies to increase the rate of competitive integrated employment for Kansans with disabilities.
- Craig Knutson, Topeka
- Nikki Heiman, Baileyville (reappointment)
Board of Accountancy
Purpose: To carry out the laws and administrative regulations governing Certified Public Accountants.

911 Coordinating Council
Purpose: To monitor the delivery of 911 services, develop strategies for future enhancements to the 911 system, and distribute available grant funds to PSAPS.
Board of Examiners in Optometry
Purpose: To administer and enforce the provisions of Kansas Optometry Law so that the highest quality of eye care is provided to Kansans.

Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Purpose: To advocate for and facilitate equal access to quality, coordinated, and comprehensive services that enhance the quality of life for Kansans who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Information Network of Kansas Board of Directors
Purpose: To provide Kansans with equal electronic access to state, county, local, and other public information.

State Library Board
Purpose: To advocate for statewide library services and resources, advise, and counsel the state librarian on policies and management, review/approve annual plans of regional systems of cooperating libraries, promote collaboration with the state Board of Regents to ensure the inclusion of libraries on the KAN-ED network, and recommend statewide priorities for interlibrary cooperation.
