Governor Kelly Directs Flags be Flown at Half-Staff in Honor of Phillips County Deputy Brandon Gaede

TOPEKA – In accordance with Executive Order #20-30, Governor Laura Kelly on Tuesday directed flags be flown at half-staff on all state buildings, grounds, and facilities from sunup to sundown on July 5, 2025, in honor of Phillips County Deputy Brandon Gaede who was killed in the line of duty on June 27, 2025.

“I am directing flags statewide be flown at half-staff to honor Phillips County Deputy Brandon Gaede, whose life was taken too soon while protecting his community,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “Each day, our law enforcement officers brave profound risks in service of their fellow Kansans. I extend my deepest condolences to Deputy Gaede’s loved ones and community as they grieve this unimaginable loss.”

Deputy Gaede will be honored during services held on July 5, 2025.
