Governor Laura Kelly Directs Flags be Flown at Half-Staff to Honor Wichita Firefighter Captain Larry D. Feuerborn

TOPEKA – In accordance with Executive Order #20-30, Governor Laura Kelly has ordered flags throughout the State of Kansas to be flown at half-staff on all state buildings, grounds, and facilities from sunup to sundown on Friday, January 13, 2023, in honor of Wichita Firefighter Captain Larry D. Feuerborn, a 44-year veteran of the Wichita Fire Department who passed away unexpectedly after responding to an emergency call in the line of duty on January 4.

“My thoughts are with Captain Feuerborn’s family, friends, and the entire Wichita community during this challenging time,” Governor Kelly said. “He was an honorable public servant to his community for many years, and his dedication will not be forgotten.”

Captain Larry D. Feuerborn will be interred on Friday, January 13, 2023.
