Governor Kelly Directs Flags be Flown at Half-Staff in Honor of 'Former Supreme Court Justice Fred Six'

TOPEKA— Today, in accordance with Executive Order #20-30, Governor Laura Kelly directed flags be flown at half-staff across the state from sunup until sundown on Thursday, May 9, 2024, in honor of former Kansas Supreme Court Justice Fred Six, who passed away last month.

“Justice Six served our state honorably during his tenure on the Kansas Supreme Court,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “On behalf of the State of Kansas, I thank him for his dedication, expertise, and fairness. My deepest condolences go out to his loved ones.”

Justice Six was appointed to the Kansas Supreme Court in 1988 by Governor Mike Hayden and served until his retirement in 2003.
