TOPEKA—Today, in accordance with Executive Order #20-30, Governor Laura Kelly has directed flags be flown at half-staff in Lyon County, Kansas, from sunup to sundown on Friday, July 12, 2024, in honor of City Commissioner and former Emporia Mayor Danny Giefer.
“Mayor Giefer’s commitment and contributions to the people of Emporia will not be forgotten,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “His tireless work to support the community was felt by many. My condolences go out to his family and loved ones.”
