Sebelius appoints two to the Partnership Historic Site Commission Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed two Kansans to the Partnership Historic Site Commission to serve two-year terms. “Kansas is home to many historical sites that serve as reminders of our past,” Sebelius said. “This commission helps to build relationships throughout the state with groups who share the goal of preserving, restoring and celebrating Kansas’ treasures.” Betty Corbin, Towanda, is a graduate of Leadership Kansas and a past president of the Butler Community College Board of Trustees. For more than 25 years, Corbin has been the president of Corbin Investments, Inc. which trains and manages commodity brokers. Allen Roth, Westwood Hills, is a graduate of Miami University of Ohio and the Executive Vice President of the American Institute of Architects. Serving on the Westwood Hills City Council since 1984, Roth is now in his seventh term as mayor. The Partnership Historic Sites program seeks to recognize and aid non-profit organizations that are making a contribution to Kansas history and its interpretation. Qualifying organizations across the state may apply to be a partnership site, thus making them eligible for the historic sites tax credits. The program allows partnership sites additional opportunities for the preservation and implementation of Kansas history. The program is administered by the Cultural Resources Division of the Kansas Historical Society. The Kansas Historical Society is responsible for the daily administration of the program, the dissemination of information and application materials, and the administration of additional programs associated with the Partnership Site program. # # # |
