Sebelius appoints Topekan to Physician Assistant Council

Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed Robert Blanken, P.A., to the Physician Assistant Council to fulfill the unexpired term of Teresa Turgeon.

“Physician assistants work closely with doctors to provide medical care to residents in communities across our state,” Sebelius said. “This council helps to ensure we have quality folks providing needed care.”

Blanken, Topeka, holds degrees from Kansas State University, Wichita State University and the University of Nebraska. With more than 15 years experience as a licensed physician assistant, Blanken is a member of the Kansas Academy of Physician Assistants board of directors.

The Physician Assistant Council advises the Board of Healing Arts regarding issues involving physician assistants.

Also reappointed to a three-year term on this council was David Day, P.A., of Wichita.
