Mentoring training opportunity for South Central Kansas

Kansas Mentors will kick off the first of seven regional trainings on Monday, March 10th in Dodge City, Governor Kathleen Sebelius and Coach Bill Snyder said today.

“In order to achieve our goal of providing every young Kansan with access to a mentor we must provide quality training to our mentoring partners,” Sebelius said.

Kansas Mentors, a statewide mentoring initiative led by Sebelius and Snyder, will host the training session. Coach Bill Snyder will serve as the keynote speaker for the event, which will be held at the Dodge House Hotel & Convention Center.

“Through extensive input from our mentoring partners, we’ve been able to develop a curriculum for these trainings that will benefit both new and established programs,” Coach Snyder said.

The training is appropriate for anyone interested in mentoring including nonprofit managers and board members, professional and development staff, people hoping to start mentoring programs, and others from the nonprofit sector.

The trainings will feature the following topics:

  • Managing Mentoring Programs;
  • Media/Communication Strategies;
  • Fundraising;
  • Dialoging with Donors;
  • Performance Measures; and
  • Building Capacity through Collaboration.

There is a registration fee of $15.  Lunch and all program materials are provided. For more information, contact Mainstream, Inc. at 800-582-1428 or register online at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/100798491
