Sebelius appoints, reappoints Kansans to the State Banking Board Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed Larry Williams to serve on the State Banking Board. “This board helps to ensure Kansas banks offer quality and professional services that protect the assets and investments of their customers,” Sebelius said. Williams, Halstead, is a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in business administration. Beginning his career as an assistant cashier in 1961, Williams is now president and chairman of the board of Halstead Bank. Williams is fulfilling an unexpired term ending in March of 2010. Also reappointed to the board was James O’Sullivan of Leawood. O’Sullivan is reappointed to another three-year term. The State Banking Board promotes competitiveness, financial stability, and sound banking practices, as part of its mission to protect consumers and promote public confidence in the state chartered banking industry. # # # |
