Sebelius appoints Tamla Edwards to the Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed Tamla Edwards to the Kansas Public Employees’ Retirement System (KPERS) Board of Trustees. “Those who have retired from state service depend on their KPERS income,” Sebelius said. “This board ensures the soundness of our KPERS system.” Edwards, Overland Park, has more than 20 years experience in program management, contract negotiations and business operations. Holding a master’s degree in finance from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Edwards is currently the director of inclusion and diversity for Sprint. The KPERS Board of Trustees reviews and adopts actuarial assumptions and reviews employer contribution rates; determines an appropriate asset allocation mix; establishes and follows investment policies and guidelines; and hires and monitors the performance of investment managers, service providers, actuaries, consultants, advisors and custodians. The board also hires and monitors the performance of the KPERS executive director. # # # |
