Sebelius appoints Larry Black and Rep. Tafanelli
to the Kansas Propane Education and Research Council

Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed Larry Black and Kansas Representative Lee Tafanelli to the Kansas Propane Education and Research Council.

“The oil and gas industry in Kansas has rebounded over the past few years, moving the state toward a more secure energy future,” Sebelius said. “As the industry works to meet the energy needs of Kansans in a cost-effective manner, this board will work with the industry to make sure that our resources are handled safely.”

Black, Meriden, is the propane department and operations manager for Capital City Oil Inc. Black brings 35 years of experience to the council and is appointed to serve a three-year term.

The Honorable Lee Tafanelli, Ozawkie, represents the 47th District in the Kansas House of Representatives. Tafanelli is a colonel in the Kansas National Guard and is appointed to serve a three-year term.

The Kansas Propane Education and Research Council is designed to enhance propane safety, education, and training for propane consumers and employees, improve existing propane technology, increase the efficiency of propane, and develop other programs to educate the public about the safety, environmental aspects, and uses of propane.
