Sebelius names Pete Kitch to the
Information Technology Executive Council

Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed Pete Kitch to the Information Technology Executive Council to help streamline the way government does business through integrating better technology.

“This council helps provide direction and coordination of the state’s information technology resources,” Sebelius said. “It allows state agencies to respond more quickly to citizens and also to offer services more efficiently and economically.”

Kitch, Wichita, graduated from Princeton University in 1964 and received his master’s in business administration from Stanford University in 1966.

Kitch was a founding partner in Langston, Kitch & Associates, where he worked from 1966 to1980. From 1981 until 1995, Kitch was an independent Fortune 500 consultant. Currently, Kitch is president of KIPHS, Inc. which develops software to help local health departments and clinics manage, organize, and report information more effectively.

The Information Technology Executive Council is responsible for approval and maintenance of all information technology policies, IT project management procedures, the statewide technical architecture, and the strategic information management plan for all state agencies.
