Crime victims programs to receive grant funds
Governor announces $3.8 million to help crime victims

Crime victims programs across the state have been awarded $3,838,861 from the Federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Victim Assistance grant program.

The grant money will be used by local organizations to provide direct services to crime victims by responding to their emotional and physical needs; assisting victims in stabilizing their lives; helping victims understand and participate in the criminal justice system; and increasing victims feeling of safety.

“This financial support will provide programs with additional resources to help those who have been impacted by crime,” Governor Kathleen Sebelius said. “These organizations play an essential role in the recovery of victims and their families.”

Kansas receives VOCA funding from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Victims of Crime.
