Sebelius appoints Hutchinson resident to highways commission

Kansas’ first-class highway network promotes commerce and allows residents and visitors to travel throughout the state.

To ensure the state’s roads continue to be among the best in the nation, Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed David Inskeep to the State Highway Advisory Commission to fulfill an unexpired four-year term.

“It was a Kansan, Dwight Eisenhower, who created the interstate highway system because he recognized the importance of highways to the nation’s security and prosperity.  We want to continue that legacy by ensuring our transportation network meets the needs of Kansas businesses, residents and visitors,” said Sebelius.

The State Highway Advisory Commission reviews the status of Kansas highways and proposes recommendations to the secretary of the Department of Transportation for improving state roads and highways.

Inskeep, Hutchinson, is vice president of Commercial Lending Services, having been a commercial banker for more than 35 years. A retired member of the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, Inskeep has also been an instructor of banking and financial management courses at the American Institute of Banking and affiliated colleges.
