Sebelius appoints Mark Olson to Citing his experience and achievement in the field of veterinary medicine, Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed Dr. Mark Olson to the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. “Kansans rely on veterinarians to provide care for animals ranging from house pets to livestock,” Sebelius said. “Dr. Olson’s twenty years of experience will help the board ensure quality veterinary care throughout the state.” The State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners promotes animal health, safety, and welfare by examining and licensing applicants for veterinary medicine, and by inspecting and registering licensed veterinarians. Olson, Oberlin, owns and practices veterinary medicine at the Countryside Veterinary Clinic. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, and the Association for Bovine Practitioners. Olson is also a two-time recipient in the Kansas PRIDE “Did Something” Award. Olson received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. Governor Sebelius also reappointed Dr. Verle Carlson to the board. Each will serve a four-year term. # # # |
