Sebelius appoints 13 members to newly-formed Governor’s Commission for Healthy and Prepared Schools

As part of an effort to provide safe learning environments for all Kansas children, regardless of geography, economic status or social factors, last year, Governor Kathleen Sebelius signed an executive order creating the Governor’s Commission on Healthy and Prepared Schools.

Today, Sebelius named the 13 members of the commission, which will identify gaps and limitations of current school crisis planning.

“These individuals possess valuable experience and insight, as well as a dedication to the well-being of young Kansans,” Sebelius said. “Their input will help ensure all Kansas children can prosper in schools that are safe, secure, and prepared.”

The Governor’s appointments include:

  • Jeff DeGraffenreid, Olathe
  • Dale Dennis, Topeka
  • Dr. Robert Hull, Olathe
  • Christy Levings, Osawatomie
  • Mindee Reece, Topeka
  • Col. William Seck, Topeka
  • Christine Tuck, Meriden
  • Jeff Tysinger, Emporia
  • Sgt. Brian Wessling, Olathe
  • C. Patrick Woods, Topeka

All members of the commission serve at the pleasure of the Governor.
