Newton resident named to Abstracters’ Board of Examiners Governor Kathleen Sebelius today announced the appointment of William Regier to the Abstracters’ Board of Examiners. “Abstracters ensure that both buyers and sellers in real estate transactions are protected, so they’re an important part of the process,” said Sebelius. The Abstracters’ Board of Examiners licenses individuals and firms that compile and sell abstracts of Kansas real estate to ensure they are doing so in a fair and equitable manner. It also seeks to protect Kansans against fraudulent and improper land title transfers. Regier, Newton, is the president of Regier Title, Inc. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas in 1975 and has operated his own business since 1982. He is a member of the Newton Area Community Foundation and formerly served on the Newton Area Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Harvey County and was the past president of the Kansas Land Title Association. Regier will serve a three-year term. # # # |
