Salinan appointed to State Board of Nursing To ensure Kansans are served by skilled, professional nurses, Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed Linda Goodwin to the State Board of Nursing. “Nurses play a critical role in the delivery of health care, which is why we want to make sure they receive the training and support they need to serve patients effectively,” said Sebelius. The State Board of Nursing protects the public health by overseeing the licensure process and ensuring all nurses receive the proper training. Goodwin, Salina, has more than 24 years of nursing experience. Currently, she works at the Salina Regional Health Center as chief nursing officer and vice president for patient care services. She also served as the president of the Kansas Organization of Nursing Leaders, and she continues to serve on its board. Additionally, Goodwin is a member of Kansas State Nurses Association and the American Nursing Association. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Marymount College in Salina in 1988, a master’s degree in nursing from Fort Hays State University in Hays in 1996 and a MBA from Kansas Wesleyan in Salina in 1998. Goodwin will serve a four-year term.# # # |
