Sebelius issues condolences on death of Kansas Sheriff Earlier today, Sheridan County Sheriff James Johnson was killed in the line of duty. Once receiving confirmation that Sheriff Johnson’s family had been notified Governor Kathleen Sebelius released the following statement: “The death of Sheriff James Johnson is a tragedy, not only for the Sheridan County community, but for law enforcement officers and Kansans across our state. I urge all Kansans to join me in offering their thoughts and prayers to Sheriff Johnson’s family, friends and colleagues during this incredibly painful time. “Sheriff Johnson gave his life to protect others and he will not be forgotten.”# # # |
