Governor offers sympathy to Labette County families
Sebelius urges Kansans to pray for those impacted

Governor Kathleen Sebelius released the following statement in regards to the swimming accident in Costa Rica:

“Both as a mother and as Governor of the State of Kansas, I offer my prayers and deepest sympathy to the family, friends and community of our Labette County students whose lives were lost in Costa Rica. We can still hope for a miracle with fellow student Jessica Pierce and Brett Carlson, their brave teacher.

“This loss of life is devastating to Southeast Kansas and the entire state, and I urge all Kansans to keep those impacted by this tragedy in their thoughts and prayers.”
