January 13, 2006 Governor Sebelius welcomes interns to public service As Governor Kathleen Sebelius welcomed legislators back to the Statehouse on Monday, she also welcomed a new group of interns who will be working in the Office of the Governor. “I was taught the importance of public service from a young age. I’m pleased these students will have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of state government and an appreciation of the value of public service and of working for all Kansans,” Sebelius said. Until May 31, the interns will work in the constituent services, appointments, and scheduling offices. To be an intern, the student must have completed his or her first year of college.
