Governor Sebelius: Dental care essential for a Healthy Kansas
Governor appoints three to Kansas Dental Board

In a continued push for quality health care, Governor Kathleen Sebelius appointed Dr. Brad Higgerson and Dr. Roger Stevens to the Kansas Dental Board.  Each will serve a four-year term. Governor Sebelius also appointed Korey Hensley to fulfill a four-year term.

The Kansas Dental Board is charged with protecting consumers against fraud, and its members work to ensure Kansans have receive quality care from dental professionals.

“Good dental health is important to good health overall,” Governor Sebelius said.  “These individuals share my commitment to a healthy Kansans and will be excellent additions to the dental board.”

 

Dr. Higgerson, Prairie Village, is a dentist who has a general practice in Overland Park. He has practiced dentistry since 1997. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association and the Fifth District Dental Society. 

Dr. Stevens, Manhattan, served as a U.S. Army dental officer while on active duty. He also was the detachment commander of the 410th Evacuation Hospital.  Earning the rank of lieutenant colonel, Dr. Stevens retired in 2001.  He is a member of the American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association, and the Kansas Dental Association Executive Council.

 

Hensley, Lindsborg, has been the director of Heartland Programs for more than 15 years.  She established an Early Head Start program in collaboration with the Salina/Saline County Health Department to provide comprehensive services to families with infants and toddlers. She also was an advisory board member of the Johnson & Johnson Management Policy Board for three years.
