Governor Sebelius offers Kansas' assistance to Texas

The following statement is from Governor Kathleen Sebelius regarding her offer of help to Texas Governor Rick Perry in a phone call earlier today:

"I spoke with Governor Perry and offered Kansas' help as his state prepares for Hurricane Rita. I told him we have people, equipment and shelters ready and able to help. I also thanked him for the way Texans have opened their arms to their neighbors who have sought refuge from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. He said to be thankful Kansas doesn't have a coastline, and that he appreciated our offer of assistance."
