17 August 2005 Governor to emphasize schools and health care in Goodland “The future of Kansas families and our economy depends on good schools and affordable health care,” Governor Kathleen Sebelius said. She will bring that message to Goodland next week as she visits with teachers and health care workers. “A Healthy Kansas means having strong schools, affordable health care, and a vibrant economy. We must invest in our schools and hold them accountable to make sure money is going where it belongs – in the classrooms. And, health care costs need to be lowered to reduce pressure on families and businesses. These efforts will give Kansas a well-educated workforce and more opportunities for jobs now and in the future,” Governor Sebelius said. On August 23, the Governor will visit with local teachers at Goodland High School, 1209 Cherry Street, at 3 p.m. Immediately following, she will tour Goodland Regional Medical Center, 200 W. 2nd. The Governor promised to reschedule the visit initially planned for July after the Legislature’s Special Session for Kansas Schools forced the second half of her state tour to be postponed. |
