Sebelius to promote reading, schools during Ulysses visit
Governor to visit library and school on August 22 & 23

The importance of education to success in life will be the focus as Governor Kathleen Sebelius visits Ulysses. The Governor will visit the Grant County Library August 22 and Sullivan Elementary School the next morning.

“Kansans know good schools mean good jobs. We also know learning continues throughout our lives, and that’s why libraries are important to our communities. If we support our schools and libraries, we’re helping our children and our economy to grow and prosper,” Governor Sebelius said.

The Governor will speak at the library, 215 E Grant Street, at 7 p.m. August 22. At 8:35 a.m. on August 23, the Governor will read to elementary school students at Sullivan Elementary, 600 W. Nebraska. While there, Governor Sebelius will also tour the school.

The Governor promised to reschedule the visit initially planned for July after the Legislature’s Special Session for Kansas Schools forced the second half of her state tour to be postponed.
