Sebelius to focus on jobs during upcoming Arkansas City visit
Governor Sebelius announces Aug. 22 visit

Continuing to promote job creation and economic growth will be the focus during Governor Kathleen Sebelius’ upcoming visit to Arkansas City. On August 22, the Governor will visit with plant employees and community members at Creekstone Farm Premium Beef, LLC to recognize their dedication and commitment to Kansas’ economic growth.

“Kansas has a long tradition of producing food for the nation. That’s a tradition being extended by Creekstone employees and thousands of other Kansans here and around the state. We need to continue to support our farmers, ranchers and producers because they create jobs for our neighbors and put food on our tables,” Governor Sebelius said.

After the Governor’s remarks, she will tour the facilities, including the testing area. The event will begin at 2 p.m. outside the plant, which is located at 604 Goff Industrial Rd.

The Governor promised to reschedule the visit initially planned for July, after the Legislature’s ongoing Special Session for Kansas Schools forced the second half of her state tour to be postponed.
