Governor Sebelius pleased to welcome Big Red One home

The following statement is from Governor Kathleen Sebelius:

“We now have official confirmation the Big Red One is coming home and that is great news for our state. We will continue to make sure our communities are ready for this additional influx of soldiers and their families. We are working with the Fort Riley planning group to meet the needs of the growing numbers of Kansas soldiers and their families; this includes issues of housing, roads, schools, and health care.

“We are very fortunate to be in this position and we will do everything possible to support the men and women of the military and their families, and to honor their service to our nation.”
