Governor Sebelius reappoints three to the Dealer Review Board

Governor Kathleen Sebelius announced today the reappointments John Morse, Timothy J. Sankey and Dale Willey to the Dealer Review Board. Each will serve a three-year term.

The Dealer Review Board confers on matters related to regulation to improve vehicle dealer practices, make suggestions and recommendations for changes in current law relating to vehicle sales, act as a resource for vehicle industry problems and provide expertise to uncover operating problems created by current law, while balancing problems against the greater public interest.

“Buying a car or truck is something most Kansans are very familiar with, and when we make such a significant purchase it is essential we trust the dealer we’re buying from. The dealer review board helps ensure our laws protect consumers and promote vehicle sales in Kansas, and I’m pleased these three individuals have agreed to continue their service,” Governor Sebelius said.

Morse, Centerville, is part owner of Morse’s Auto Salvage which was started in 1982. Since 1986, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Kansas Auto Recyclers Association. He has been a member of the Linn County Volunteer Fire Department since 1984 and is currently the Fire Chief of the Centerville Station.

Sankey, Salina, owns and operates Sankey Auto Center. Sankey, who was a member of the United States Army, is a now a member of Eagles, Elks and the chamber of commerce in Salina. He is a member of the Kansas Independent Automobile Dealers Association and the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association.

Willey, Lawrence, owns Dale Willey Automotive. Willey has served as president and director of the Lawrence Area Automobile Dealers Association, and secretary for the Kansas Automobile Dealers Association. After purchasing the dealership in 1970, Willey has received numerous awards, including GM’s recognition for having the highest Customer Satisfaction Index Rating in the Midwest and the Kansas Time Quality Dealer Award.
