Governor Sebelius appoints retired Brigadier General to Military Advisory Board

Governor Kathleen Sebelius announced her appointment of retired Brigadier General James Aubuchon to the Kansas Military Advisory Board. He will serve at the pleasure of the Governor.

The Military Advisory Board advises the governor, as necessary, on the changes and improvements in management and control of State-owned military facilities, such as armories.

“General Aubuchon brings a respected history of strong leadership and commitment to our state and our country,” Governor Sebelius said. “I am pleased he is willing to extend his service in this capacity.”

General Aubuchon, Pittsburg, retired from the U.S. Army in 1999 after 36 years of active and reserve duty. He is the chair of the Kansas Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, and an ambassador for the State of Kansas to the Chief of the Army Reserve. He currently is the vice president for university advancement at Pittsburg State University and the executive director of the PSU Foundation, Inc. He served two terms as Pittsburg Mayor.
