Governor returns from three days around the state, reports on what she heard from Kansans

TOPEKA, Kan. -- Governor Kathleen Sebelius, reporting on her three-day tour across Kansas, said today, “At every stop, I heard the same message from everyday Kansans. From Holton to Goodland, people expressed their frustration with the stalemate in the Legislature, and their desire for legislators to get the job done.

The Governor said that the people of Kansas want their legislators to come back to Topeka and finish their work. “If they have listened to their neighbors and friends who have been talking to me, they have heard that Kansans expect them to fund good schools in every community and to do it now.”

“After hundreds of conversations over the past three days, I am more energized and more committed than ever to make sure that all Kansas kids go to the best schools possible, that all Kansans can have high-quality, affordable health care, and that we help generate more good jobs, all across the state.”
