Governor issues statement on House failure to advance school plan

TOPEKA, Kan. – The following statement is from Governor Kathleen Sebelius in response to the House’s action on school finance:

“It’s disappointing that the House cannot pass even a modest plan to help Kansas schoolchildren and protect Kansas taxpayers. People across the state tell me they want the Legislature to act responsibly and quickly to improve our schools and our economy.  I’ve worked closely with Republicans and Democrats in the Legislature, and we’ve seen the Senate act on a responsible solution.  I call on the House to do the same, and do it soon.”
