Governor Sebelius appoints three trustees to Wichita State Board

Governor Kathleen Sebelius announced today the appointments of Jack Focht, Jane McHugh, and Joe Norton to the Wichita State Board of Trustees. Each will serve a three-year term.

The Wichita State Board of Trustees manages property, estates and funds given, transferred and pledged to the University.

“It is wonderful when people choose to bequeath gifts or estates to universities for the benefit of future students,” said Governor Sebelius. “It is important they know their gift will be well managed and utilized appropriately, and the individuals I’m appointing to the Wichita State board will help ensure that fact.”

Focht, Wichita, is special counsel in the Wichita law office of Foulston Siefkin, LLP. He has 40 years of experience as an attorney. Focht received Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory’s highest “AV” rating and is listed in the Best Lawyers of America. He has also worked as an adjunct professor of speech and criminal law at Wichita State University.

McHugh, Wichita, is a CPA and partner in the tax department of BKD, LLP. McHugh, a graduate of Wichita State, serves on the board of the Planned Giving Council for the Wichita State University Foundation. She also serves as a member of the Accounting Advisory Counceil for Emporia State University.
