14 June 2005 Governor Sebelius appoints two to State Board of Pharmacy Governor Kathleen Sebelius today announced her appointment of Dr. Shirley K. Arck and Michael E. Coast to the State Board of Pharmacy. Each will serve a three-year term. The Board licenses and registers entities conducting business relating to the practice of pharmacy and protects public health and welfare against unprofessional, improper and unauthorized practice of pharmacy. “Kansans depend on their pharmacists and pharmacies for safe, reliable prescription drugs,” Governor Sebelius said. “I am pleased these individuals have agreed to lend their experience to maintain Kansas pharmacies’ high standards.” Dr. Arck, Manhattan, is the director of pharmacy at Kansas State University Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and an adjunct clinical assistant professor for the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. She also worked as a pharmacist at Barry’s Drug Center, Perine Enterprises, Wal-Mart Pharmacy, Wabaunsee County Health Department and Irwin Army Hospital. Dr. Arck received her undergraduate degree and her doctor of pharmacy from the University of Kansas. Coast, Cimarron, owns K&M Consulting and works as a pharmacist and a consultant pharmacist in Dodge City, Montezuma, Coldwater, Ashland, Jetmore, Meade, Minneola and Liberal. Coast graduated from the University of Kansas with a pharmacy degree and is certified as a geriatric pharmacist by the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists. |
