9 June 2005 Governor Sebelius appoints two to the Real Estate Commission Governor Kathleen Sebelius today announced her appointment of Tim Holt and Melville (Bill) Perry III to the State Real Estate Commission. Each will serve a four-year term. The State Real Estate Commission protects the public interest in the real estate marketplace through the regulation of real estate brokers and salespersons through licensing, education, and enforcement of law. “Thousands of Kansans buy homes and businesses each year with the help of real estate brokers. We need to ensure Kansas consumers receive skilled representation from someone who will fairly represent their interests. I’m confident the individuals I’m appointing today will continue to ensure the high quality of Kansas’ real estate professionals,” said Governor Sebelius. Holt, Kingman, is the managing broker with Realty Executives of Wichita. Between 1989 and 2000, he owned Golden, Inc. Realtors until it merged with Realty Executives of Wichita. Holt has been licensed to sell real estate in Kansas since 1974. He has served on the Wichita Area Association of Realtors Board of Directors, Kansas Civil Service Board and the Board of Trustees of Old Cowtown Museum. He served as a Kansas State Representative from 1977 to 1978. Perry, Prairie Village, is the vice president and counsel for First American Title Kansas Agency, Inc. He served on the commission from 1982 to 1986 and was chairman in 1985. Perry was honored as Real Estate Affiliate of the Year by the Metropolitan Kansas City Board of Realtors in 1989 and was honored as Real Estate Affiliate of the Year by the Johnson County Boards of Realtors in 1995. |
