Governor Sebelius appoints Lisa French to the Kansas Water Authority

Governor Kathleen Sebelius announced her appointment of Lisa French to the Kansas Water Authority. French will serve a four-year term.

The Kansas Water Authority reviews plans for the development, management and use of the water resources of the state by any state or local agency.

“As the agricultural heartland, water is an important asset,” Governor Sebelius said. “Lisa will be a great asset to the board as we look to the long-term goals of water conservation in Kansas.”

French, Partridge, is a farmer and rancher. Since 2002, she has been a project coordinator with Cheney Lake Watershed. She has previously served as a field coordinator for Clean Water Farms Project and the project coordinator for Ninnescah Sustainable Ag Project, both of the Kansas Rural Center. As part of the Clean Water Farms Project, French received the 2001 Fox Award from the Kansas Water Office for “outstanding support of the goals and objectives of the Kansas Water Plan.”
