Governor Sebelius makes appointments to Pooled Money Investment Board

Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed Eric J. Worner and reappointed Norman B. Dawson to the Pooled Money Investment Board. Each has been confirmed by the Senate and will serve a four-year term.

The Pooled Money Investment Board is responsible for managing money in the State General Fund and hundreds of other state funds.

“It is imperative we have strong financial managers overseeing our state’s investments. The individuals I’m appointing today have demonstrated a commitment to sound investing and money management and I’m confident they will help ensure our state funds are well-managed,” Governor Sebelius said.

The board provides investment advice for sizeable state portfolios like the SGF. In addition, the board's responsibilities include the active management and administration of the Kansas Municipal Investment Pool. The board also has the responsibility of approving financial depositories for state and special moneys maintained and managed in demand deposit and interest-bearing accounts by many state agencies.
