20 May 2005 Governor Sebelius reappoints two to the University of Kansas Hospital Authority Governor Kathleen Sebelius has reappointed Betty Keim and John Payne to the University of Kansas Hospital Authority. Each has been confirmed by the Senate and will serve four-year terms. The University of Kansas Hospital Authority oversees the organization and administration of the University of Kansas Medical Center. “The KU Medical Center is a pillar of the Kansas health care community,” Governor Sebelius said. “I am pleased both Betty and John have agreed to continue their service on behalf of a medical facility so many patients depend on.” Keim, Mission Hills, is a community health advocate. She currently serves on the University of Kansas Hopsital Authority Board including the Heart Hospital Task Force, the Quality Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee. She is a member of the Community Blood Center Board of Directors, the Kansas University School of Nursing Advisory Board and the People to People International Board of Trustees. Payne, Shawnee Mission, has over 29 years of experience in the health care industry. He is currently the general manager of Bayer HealthCare and president and general manager of the Animal Health Division. He has worked in various capacities of Bayer Group since 1989. Payne received the 2003 Distinguished Service Award from the American Veterinarian Medical Association, the 2001 Citizen’s Foundation Board of Directors Award from the FBI Citizen’s Academy and the 2000 Distinguished Service Award from Censhare, the Center to Study Human-Animal Relationships & Environments at the University of Minnesota. |
