2 May 2005 Governor Sebelius announces screen saver contest finalists now up for final public online vote Governor Kathleen Sebelius has announced the finalists for the Show Your Kansas Pride Screen Saver Contest, a contest run through www.accesskansas.org, the state’s official Web site. Five finalists from each grade will now have their artwork displayed on the Web site for a public vote. “Kansas kids have submitted some great ideas,” Governor Sebelius said. “I am pleased with all of the entries and appreciate these children and their parents and teachers who helped get the ideas to us.” The contest was open to all elementary students, kindergarten through sixth grade, in Kansas. More than 425 Kansas elementary students submitted artwork for the contest. A panel of judges from the Governor’s Office, Kansas Department of Education, Kansas Highway Patrol, Information Network of Kansas and accessKansas selected five finalists from each grade. The public can now select a winner in each grade by voting online before May 13. Once voting is complete, the top entry from each grade will be compiled into a downloadable screensaver and featured on the accessKansas Web portal. In June the Governor will award prizes to winners. The winners and their families will be invited to spend a day in the capital city. The finalists for the contest are from the following schools:
