Governor calls for House action on health care reform

The House of Representatives needs to finish its work on health care reform.

That was the message Governor Kathleen Sebelius conveyed to legislators as the 2005 wrap-up session headed into its final days.

“In November, I proposed a plan for health care reform in Kansas,” said Governor Sebelius. “In January, I asked the Legislature to work with me in cutting health care costs and providing more access to affordable coverage for Kansas small business owners and Kansas children.”

She concluded, “I call on the Legislature, before it adjourns, to move ahead on the plan by passing the budget recommendations and the reform bill that will streamline our health care system.”
