28 April 2005 Governor Sebelius appoints three to Board of Accountancy Governor Kathleen Sebelius announced the reappointment of Col. Adley Johnson and the appointments of Patricia O’Sullivan and Rodney Van Norden to the Kansas State Board of Accountancy. Each will serve a three-year term. The Board of Accountancy licenses and regulates certified public accountants who work in Kansas. “We rely on accountants to ensure our personal and business finances are in order, which is why it is important that we have good oversight and regulation of the industry. The individuals being appointed and reappointed have demonstrated a dedication to the public trust and will provide that critical oversight,” Gov. Sebelius said. Johnson, Salina, is a retired colonel for the U.S. Army Reserve and a certified public accountant with Kennedy and Coe since 1953. He has served as a member of the board for several terms since 1977. He most recently served as chair of the board from 2002 to 2003. Johnson is also a member of the Kansas Masonic Foundation, Lion’s Club and Presbyterian Manors of Mid America. O’Sullivan, Wichita, is a senior vice president and trust team leader for Bank of America N.A. O’Sullivan has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Kansas and has worked in the financial field since 1976 and with Bank of America for 21 years. O’Sullivan serves as chairman of the leadership council for the American Diabetes Association, and serves on the advisory council for Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School, the Wichita Art Museum Board of Trustees and as the Wichita Estate Planning Council’s Program Chairman. Van Norden, Garden City, is a member and an owner of Lewis, Hooper and Dick, LLC., since 1983. Van Norden has worked in accounting since 1974. Van Norden has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wichita State University and serves on various community boards in Garden City. |
