25 March 2005 Two Appointed to the Kansas Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Governor Kathleen Sebelius has announced the appointment of Dustin Allen and Dustin Nelson to the Kansas Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Both will serve a four-year term. “By addressing juvenile delinquency, we can hopefully head off more serious crimes later in life and help young Kansans make responsible decisions. These two individuals bring a special perspective to the issue and I’m pleased they have accepted these appointments,” Governor Sebelius said. Allen, Lawrence, is a student at the University of Kansas, working toward a degree in social work. Between the spring of 2003 and fall of 2004, he was a corrections officer at the Topeka Corrections Facility. Allen is also a member of the Kansas University Marching Band Drumline. Nelson, Hutchinson, is an Eagle Scout, a delegate for the Boys’ State of Kansas, and vice-president of the Key Club. He is an honor roll student and plans to attend a 4-year university. The Kansas Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention participates in the development and review of the juvenile justice plan, and review, comment and make recommendations on all juvenile justice grant applications. |
