15 February 2005 Governor Sebelius Appoints Three to the State Banking Board Governor Kathleen Sebelius has announced her appointment of three individuals to the State Banking Board. Each will serve a three-year term. The Kansas Banking Board works to prudently, equitably, ethically and efficiently administer all of its statutory delegated powers and duties so as to promote competitiveness, financial stability, safe and sound banking practices, protection of Kansas consumers and public confidence in the state chartered banking industry. “Kansans count on fair and equitable services from our financial institutions,” said Gov. Sebelius. “I am pleased these individuals will bring their strong business experience to this important board.” Andrew L. Bias, Wichita, is President and CEO of Mennonite Housing Rehabilitation Services, Inc. He served as Sedgwick County Commissioner from 1993 to 1995. Bias received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wichita State University, worked as an assistant director for the Wichita Metropolitan Family Preservation Agency and as the director of operations for Perm-A-Store, Inc. James G. O’Sullivan, Leawood, is President and CEO of Valley View Financial Group Trust Company. O’Sullivan, who received his law degree from the University of Kansas, has worked as an attorney, trust officer, estate administration counsel, manager and Senior Vice-president for various banks since 1981. O’Sullivan served as President of the Kansas Bankers Association from 2003 to 2004, served on the Kansas City Council from 1978 to 1981 and has worked in various positions for the St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Richard D. Rucker, Eureka, is President and Chairman of Home Bank and Trust Company and has worked there for 30 years. Rucker received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Friends University and has since completed banking certification in commercial lending and trust. Rucker is a board member for the Christian Congregational Church and is the past president of Greenwood County Shrine Club. |
