Kansas Military Family Support Program

Dear Fellow Kansans:

Currently, nearly a thousand members of the Kansas National Guard and the Kansas Army Reserves have been called to active duty and separated from their families for long periods of time.  The families of these dedicated soldiers make many adjustments and need our support to help them through this very stressful time.

It is much easier for the families to cope with these difficult changes if they know that their community cares. A simple task like mowing the grass or preparing a meal can go a long way toward helping a family in this time of need.

I am calling upon the many civic-minded organizations of Kansas to mobilize your members to help our Kansas military families in communities across our state. I hope that through the effective use of technology we can match a network of willing volunteer organizations to families in need of our support.

I believe that the people of Kansas are our greatest resource and that you will give generously of yourselves during this time of continuing war and conflict. Thank you for any act, large or small, that you can contribute to this effort.

Sincerely,
Gary Sebelius, Chair
Kansas Military Family Support Program
