EXECUTIVE ORDER 03-02

WHEREAS, each February the Department of Administration, Division of Information Systems and Communications (DISC) produces and distributes to all state agencies the State of Kansas Communication Services Directory; and

WHEREAS, the information contained in the Directory is readily available to all state agencies on-line through the State's website and changes to the directory can be made more quickly and more accurately; and

WHEREAS, the business and government environment is changing and adapting to the use of technology in the workplace; and

WHEREAS, the State of Kansas will recognize savings by not printing and distributing the Directory, but having the information available through the State's website.

NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Kansas, I hereby direct the Secretary of Administration to:

1. Suspend printing, publication and distribution of the State of Kansas Communication Services Directory until further order;
2. Ensure that all information contained in the Directory remains available, including a list of agencies in printable format, on the State's website; and
3. Notify all State agencies of the suspension of the printing, publication and distribution of the Directory and how the information will be made available through the State's website.

This document shall be filed with Secretary of State as Executive Order No.03-02 and shall become effective immediately.
