Frank MacLennan was very proud of his Scottish heritage. Guests to Cedar Crest
are welcomed through a door featuring a hand-carved Scottish thistle, a motif
that is also repeated on the limestone facade above the door.
Once inside, your view is first drawn to the rug featuring the state seal and then follows up the grand staircase to a bank of leaded windows highlighted by designs from nature, including oak leaves and, again, Mr. MacLennan's beloved Scottish thistle. The original English palm plaster walls were restored during the recent renovation.
