Parkinson Meets with Representatives from Reno County
Lieutenant Governor Parkinson met with representatives from Reno
County to discuss the latest developments for wind energy in Kansas. Panel
members included: Dorothy Barnett, Jim Davis, Betty Taylor, Nancy Jackson, Kurt
Miller, Mark Richardson and Phil Neufeld.
Parkinson Attends the Renewable Energy Conference
Lieutenant Governor Parkinson addresses attendees of the 8th Annual Kansas
Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Conference. The conference
focused on the "Future for Wind in Kansas" and Parkinson spoke about Kansas’ perspective
on renewable energy. Parkinson also gave awards for the energy awards presentation
that was announced by Jim Ploger from the Kansas
Energy Office. Awards recipients included: KSU Solar Car Team,
Southwest Junior High in Lawrence, Gold LEED Office Building in Johnson County,
Public Works Complex in Riley County, Olathe USD – Energy Star Schools, North
Newton “Green” City Hall, Cloud County Community College, Kansas Rural
Center, Kansas Board of Regents and Rose & Vaughn Flora for efficient housing
in Topeka. Wes Jackson, Ph. D, President of the Land Institute in Salina also
spoke as well as many other renewable energy advocates.

Lieutenant Governor Parkinson Visits Emporia State University
Lieutenant Governor Parkinson met with President Michael Lane; Mr. Ray Hauke, VP for
Administration and Fiscal Affairs; Dr. John Schwenn, Vice President for Academic Affairs
and Dr. James Williams, Vice President for Student Affairs at Emporia
State University (ESU). The meeting focused primarily on energy conservation
and the steps ESU has taken to promote more efficient energy usage on campus. Immediately
following the meeting the lieutenant governor was taken on a tour of Emporia State’s
campus so he could see first had the changes Emporia has made to become more energy
efficient.
Parkinson Speaks to McPherson Chamber
Lieutenant
Governor Parkinson was the keynote speaker for the McPherson
Chamber of Commerce annual meeting. The McPherson Chamber was celebrating
the transition between Chamber Heads as well as McPherson’s Employee Survey. The
purpose of the employee survey was not only to find out why employees are choosing to
commute to McPherson, but also several other issues regarding; workforce availability,
skilled & unskilled workforce, and workforce housing. The survey results gave the
McPherson community direction as to what their workforce housing needs are and how McPherson
can be a better community for everyone that lives here and works here. Les
Mason and Gary Hess also briefly addressed chamber members.

Lieutenant Governor Addresses 39th Annual Joint Meeting

Lieutenant Governor Parkinson Visits Tsukiji Fish Market
While in Japan, Lieutenant Governor Parkinson visited the Tsukiji
Fish Market. The Tsukiji Market supply’s perishable foods
to Metropolitan citizens and plays a vital role in lives of roughly 12 million residents. Tsukiji
is the central wholesale market and distribution point for the community. Employees
at the market are devoted to supporting the diet and life of residents day and night.

Lt. Governor Speaks at the Japan Association Conference
The
Lieutenant Governor briefly addressed attendees of the Japan Association Conference’s,
Kansas - Tokyo Reception closing ceremony at the Roppongi Academy Hills. Speaking with
Lt. Governor Parkinson was: Lt. Governor Lee Fisher, State of Ohio; Lt. Governor Patty
Judge, State of Iowa; Lt. Governor Pat Quinn, State of Illinois; Hon. Kenji Shinoda,
Consul General of Japan at Chicago and Timothy Sheehy, President, Metropolitan Milwaukee
Association of Commerce. Final closing remarks were given by Hon. James Thompson, U.S.
Conference Chairman and Yuzaburo Mogi, Japan Conference Chairman.

Lieutenant Governor Meets with Japanese Leaders
Lieutenant Governor Parkinson attended a meeting at Roppongi
Academy Hills. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Japanese
politics, economic issues and current issues in various regions of Japan. Attendees
included: Mr. Yuzaburo Mogi, Chairman and CEO, Kikkoman Corporation; Ms. Akiko Demoto,
Governor of Chiba; Mr. Kiyoshi Ueda, Governor of Saitama; Mr. Yasuo Hayashi, Chairman
and CEO, JETRO; Mr. Taizo Nishmuro, Adviser to the Board, Toshiba Corporation; Mr.
Kichisaburo Nomura, Executive Advisor, All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd.; and Governor
Thompson. Immediately following the meeting was a welcome reception for U.S.
Midwest visitors.

Lieutenant Governor Visits the Asakusa Temple
Lieutenant Governor Parkinson traveled to Toyko and Osaka for a Trade Mission. Upon
his arrival in Japan, Lieutenant Governor Parkinson visited the Asakusa Temple. Ted
Sato, Kansas Japan Office; Kim Young, Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition;
and Randi Tveitaraas Jack were also present.
Lieutenant Governor Attends the Grand Sumo Tournament
After arriving in Japan, the Lieutenant Governor attended the Grand Sumo Tournament
at Ryogoku Stadium “Kokugikan.” Until the beginning of the 20th century,
sumo tournaments were held outdoors in shrines. The first permanent sumo hall was built
on the Ryogoku grounds in Tokyo.

Lieutenant Governor Parkinson Speaks to Realtors
Parkinson was keynote speaker at the CCIM/Commercial
Real Estate - Wichita Area Association of Realtors Quarterly Luncheon. The
Lt. Governor briefly discussed future commercial development in Wichita and presented
some of the challenges that Wichita developers might face. President Tony Utter
provided opening and closing remarks for the event.
Parkinson Attends WAAR Groundbreaking Ceremony
Lieutenant
Governor Mark Parkinson attended the Wichita
Area Association of Realtors (WAAR) groundbreaking ceremony in downtown
Wichita. The new WAAR Headquarters is the third new building to break ground in
Wichita’s new WaterWalk development.
The WaterWalk development is a private/public venture in downtown Wichita near the new
arena. It’s located on the Arkansas River and Highway 54. Others who
attended the ceremony include: Penny Johnson, President; Tony Utter, President-Elect
and Carl Brewer, Mayor of Wichita.
Parkinson Promotes Kansas Book Festival
The
Lieutenant Governor attended a press conference at Wichita
State University to promote the Kansas
Book Festival and to announce the Night of the Notables Gala benefiting Greensburg/Kiowa
County library rebuilding efforts. The festival will take place
at the Koch Arena on WSU’s campus October 5-6. State Librarian Christie
Pearson Brandau briefly updated those attending of the festival plans, introduced committee
members, Advanced Council and sponsors in attendance. The 2007 Festival will benefit
the State Library's Statewide Summer Reading Program, which reaches 80,000 children
through public libraries in 400 Kansas communities every year.
Lieutenant Governor Parkinson Speaks at Kansas Housing Conference
The Lieutenant Governor briefly spoke to attendees of the Kansas
Housing Conference held in Hutchinson on
September 5th. Parkinson provided his thoughts on affordable housing in the
State of Kansas. Steve Weatherford the President Kansas
Development & Finance Authority and President of the Kansas
Housing Resources Corporation also briefly addressed the audience as
well as introduced the Lt. Governor.

Former Lieutenant Governors Visit the Capitol
Eight former
lieutenant governors visited the capitol and spoke with Lieutenant
Governor Parkinson about Volunteer Kansas. The former lt. governors
expressed their thoughts on Parkinson’s new initiative and support of his
new website database aiming to get more Kansans involved volunteering. Those
attending included: Honorable John Moore, Honorable Gary Sherrer, Honorable Sheila
Frahm, Honorable Jim Francisco, Honorable Tom Docking, Honorable Paul Dugan, Honorable
Dave Owen and Honorable Shelby Smith. Former Lieutenant Governors John Crutcher
and James DeCoursey Jr. were unable to attend.
Parkinson Promotes Project ChildSafe
The
Lieutenant Governor promoted Project
ChildSafe at Shawnee County Sheriffs Office in Topeka. Former Lieutenant
Governors John Moore and Gary Sherrer also attended to support gunlock distribution
and firearm safety in the home. Project ChildSafe’s National Representative, Shari
LeGate described the program and explained how gunlocks are used. Members of the Shawnee
County Sheriffs Office were also present.

Lieutenant Governor Participates in NBAF Meeting
The Lieutenant Governor traveled to Manhattan to participate in a National Bio- and
Agro- Defense Facility (NBAF)
scoping meeting. The event was held at Kansas
State University’s Union, in Forum Hall. The lt. governor briefly
expressed his thoughts on the new facility and its potential relocation to Manhattan
in the future.

Parkinson Serves Lunch to the Topeka Community
Lieutenant
Governor Parkinson volunteered at Let’s
Help in Topeka to continue promoting his initiative, Volunteer Kansas. While
visiting, he served lunch to the community and toured the facility. Volunteers
from St. David's
Episcopal Church donated and prepared the food for the community. Let’s
Help is a not-for-profit organization committed to inspiring hope, promoting success
and changing lives. Let’s Help is working to build a better community by providing
emergency assistance, food programs, education and employment counseling.
Parkinson Attends United States Coast Guard Personnel Service Center 25th Anniversary
Celebration
Lieutenant Governor Parkinson briefly addressed members of the US
Coast Guard. The Lt. Governor also read and presented Governor
Sebelius’ Proclamation. Other guests included: Vice Admiral Robert
J. Papp, Jr., U.S. Coast Guard, Chief of Staff; Commander Stuart Lebruska; Honorable
William Bunten, Topeka Mayor; Honorable Nancy Boyda, Kansas Second Congressional
District Representative and Captain Vincent Weber. Other presenters included
Dale Hosman, poet; Sherry Tyree, Madeline Najera, Kim Clennan, PSC Singers and Janice

three facilities; other Kansas National Guard members were also present.

Lieutenant Governor Parkinson Attends the KIOGA Trade Show
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson attended the 70th annual Kansas Independent Oil & Gas
Association (KIOGA)
Convention and Tradeshow Breakfast at the Wichita Hilton. KIOGA is the voice of the
Kansas Independent Petroleum Industry. The Lt. Governor was introduced by KIOGA’s
Executive Vice President Ed Cross and briefly addressed attendees. KIOGA Officers include:

Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson Tours McConnell Air Force Base
While in Wichita,
the Lieutenant Governor toured McConnell
Air Force Base and the 89th
Regional Readiness Command. His tour was hosted by the 22nd Air Refueling
Wing; one of only three supertanker KC-135 Stratotanker wings in the Air Force; the 931st
Air Refueling Group, an Air Force Reserve KC-135 "Stratotanker" associate
unit working alongside the 22nd Air Refueling Wing; and the Kansas Air National Guard's
184th Air Refueling Wing. He was also hosted by Major General Rita M. Broadway,
Commanding General of the 89th Regional Readiness Command, the command and control headquarters
for 144 Army Reserve units in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. Others in attendance
for the tour included Col John Zarworsky, 22nd Air Refueling Wing Commander; Col Randy
Roebuck, 184th Wing Commander; Col Gary Major; Col Mark White; Col Michael Dillard;

Lieutenant Governor Met with the SPEEA Union
The Lieutenant Governor visited the SPEEA Wichita Hall to meet with the Society of
Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace Union Representatives. SPEEA provides
professional representation to engineers, technical and other professionals at the Boeing
Company in Washington, Kansas, Oregon, California and Utah.
Lieutenant Governor Volunteers at Lord’s Diner
The Lt. Governor promoted Volunteer
Kansas, his new initiative aiming to encourage volunteering
in the State by working at the Lord’s
Diner in Wichita. Lord’s Diner is a not-for-profit soup
kitchen operated by the community, for the community, and sponsored by the Catholic
Diocese of Wichita. They provide evening meals seven days a week, 365 days
a year.

The Lt. Governor Speaks at Overland Park Chamber of Commerce Graduation Luncheon
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson was the keynote speaker for the Overland
Park Chamber of Commerce Leadership Graduation Luncheon held June 21,
2007. The
luncheon was located at the Overland Park Marriott. Lieutenant Governor Parkinson
gave a speech that encouraged active community participation and sought out prominent
leadership roles in the surrounding area. Class Representative, Joe Lieberman;
President of the Overland Park Chamber, Tracey Osborne, and Chairman of the Board
of Directors for the Overland Park Chamber, Greg Wolf, also addressed the attendees.

Lieutenant Governor Parkinson Travels to Garnett, Kansas to Visit Ethanol Plant
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson took a trip to Garnett, Kansas
to tour the East Kansas Agri Energy Ethanol
Plant. Lieutenant
Governor Parkinson was accompanied by Bill Feuerborn, Representative
for the Fifth House District of Kansas. This plant is home to approximately 35
million gallons of ethanol and approximately 68,000 tons of dried distillers’ grains
with solubles (DDGS). The plant’s boilers are cooled by wastewater, treated at
the local wastewater treatment plant, and excess feed/grain is sold to farmers and ranchers
in the area. Community involvement is a rarity nowadays as the majority of ethanol
plants are now financed internationally making the East Kansas Agri Energy Ethanol Plant
rather unique for our state.

by the State of Kansas during the Southeast Kansas Regional Business Appreciation Month
Awards Luncheon in Chanute. The event was aimed to congratulate

Lt. Governor Parkinson Participates in 2007 Latino Youth Leadership Institute
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson visited with students from southwest Kansas who
participated in the 2007 Latino Youth Leadership Institute. The event was followed by
a visit of State Capitol and university campuses. Lt. Governor Parkinson delivered
remarks about the importance of Leadership. Other guests included former State
Senator Paul Feleciano.

Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson addressed the Pittsburg Rotary Club at
the Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center. Representative Julie Menghini of the 3rd District
accompanied Lieutenant Governor Parkinson to the lunch where he was introduced by Chris
Kelly, General Manager, KKOW AM Radio.
Lt. Governor Speaks to Kansas Mentors Regional Training
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson visited Greenbush -
Southeast Kansas Education Service Center in Girard. The Southeast Kansas Education Service Center
aims to ensure equal education opportunities for everyone. He also delivered
remarks to the Kansas Mentors Regional Training event held at Greenbush along with former
Kansas State Coach Bill Snyder. The Lt. Governor was accompanied by Representative
Bob Grant, 2nd District of Kansas.

Parkinson tours Fort Riley
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson visited Fort Riley and
was given a tour of the post by military leadership. Upon his arrival, Lieutenant
Governor Parkinson was met by John Armburst executive director of the Governor’s
Military Council and COL Thomas "Ty" Smith, Garrison Commander. The
tour included stops at Camp Funston, the Historic Mainpost, and the Soldier Family Support
Center and was followed by a brief press conference.

Parkinson Reads to Children
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson read to thirty-two, 4- and 5-year old students of
the Pre-K class at Larry Dixon Center for Innovative Studies in
Junction City. The program is funded through the Children's Cabinet Trust Fund
and was a great opportunity for Lieutenant Governor Parkinson to meet with the younger
residents of the Junction City community.

Lt. Governor Parkinson Attends United Way of Wyandotte County
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson attended the United
Way of Wyandotte County’s annual meeting in Kansas City, Kansas. Wendell
Maddox, United Way of Wyandotte County President met with the Lieutenant Governor
and accompanied him to the meeting. Lieutenant Governor Parkinson spoke about
the status of Early Learning in the State of Kansas. Other speakers included
Michael Brandwein, Speaker-Educator-Author; and Pat Gaunce, Vice Chair - Community
Services.
Lamar Hunt’s Family Visits the Capitol
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson welcomed Lamar Hunt’s family to the State
Capitol. Senate Minority Leader Anthony Hensley and Senate President Stephen Morris
also attended the ceremony to honor Kansas City Chief’s Founder Lamar Hunt, along
with present and former Chiefs players. The event was held in the Governor’s
Ceremonial Office.

Hyde International Studies and Communications Magnet School’s Students
Visit the State Capitol
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson posed for a photograph with 5th graders from Hyde
International Studies and Communications Magnet School in the Wichita
Public Unified School District during their visit to the State Capitol. Approximately
45 students were in attendance giving Lieutenant Governor Parkinson the chance to
visit with some future Kansas leaders.

Lt. Governor Parkinson Tours Bowersock Mills and Power Company
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson toured Bowersock Mills and Power Company in
Lawrence. He was accompanied by Representative Paul Davis, 46th District of Kansas. Bowersock
Mills and Power Company is the only hydroelectric plant in Kansas and has been in operation
for 132 years.
Parkinson Visits University of Kansas
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson visited the University
of Kansas, Lawrence campus and addressed KU’s History students. Lieutenant
Governor Parkinson addressed the class and briefly presented his own lecture about
the role he plays as Lieutenant Governor and dealing with current issues the state
faces. That same day Lieutenant Governor Parkinson also participated along with
3rd Congressional District Congressman
Dennis Moore in
a forum at the KU Law School on the future of the state and elections. Also
participating was Kansas Representative Raj Goyle, 87th District.

Use of E85
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson and Congressman
Dennis Moore promoted
the use of E85, a fuel made from 85% vegetable or biomass and 15% gasoline. A press
conference was held to discuss the importance of renewable and alternative energy sources
and highlighting the only Johnson
County gas
station to sell E85 gasoline. Other dignitaries in attendance included: Vikram

Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson visited Edith

City Public Unified School District. Upon Lieutenant Governor Parkinson’s
arrival, he was met by Librarian Donna Wartman, who escorted him to the library where
he read to the second grader students as part of his
continued lifelong commitment to volunteering.

Parkinson Tours Ethanol Plant in Western Kansas
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson toured the Conestoga Ethanol Plant under construction
in Finney County while
visiting Western Kansas. The tours were led by James "Bud" Spralding, Project Site Supervisor and Jeff

Parkinson Visits Scott City Library
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson attended the Scott City Library
Community Reception and Open House while visiting Western Kansas. The Lieutenant
Governor also met with the Library Leadership Team and Don Cotton to discuss the library’s
expansion project.

Governor Parkinson Visits Raptor Rehab Center
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson and elementary school children in Great Bend visited
the Raptor Rehab Center, a bird sanctuary being renovated at the Great Bend
Zoo. Lieutenant Governor Parkinson was given the opportunity to
interact with 5th & 6th graders during their field trip and to handle some of the
birds being rehabilitated.
Parkinson Visits Great Bend Workforce Center
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson visited with business and community leaders at the
Great Bend Workforce Center. Those attending included: Mayor Mike Allison, D.D.S.;

Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson toured the Spirit AeroSystems facilities

Parkinson Visits ICM, Inc.
Lt. Governor Mark Parkinson visited ICM,
Inc.
facilities in Colwich. ICM,
Inc. provides leadership in the design, construction, and support of ethanol plants
with the mission of finding ways to turn agricultural products into renewable energy. Lieutenant
Governor Parkinson met with Dave VanderGriend, President of ICM, Inc. and other key
staff at ICM to discuss ICM involvement in the community, state, and the national biofuels
industry. The event also included a tour of the facility’s Corporate Headquarters,
manufacturing and R&D lab.

Graduate Students Around Kansas Visit with the Lt. Governor
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson viewed displays and visited with graduate students
from Kansas universities during the 4th Annual Capitol Graduate Research Summit. The
Capitol Graduate Research Summit is organized through collaborative efforts between
three state universities – The University of Kansas,
Wichita State University,
and Kansas State University.

Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson Co-Chairs the Inaugural Meeting of the Kansas
National Bio- and Agro-defense Facility (NBAF) Task Force
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson co-chaired the inaugural meeting of the Kansas National
Bio- and Agro-defense Facility (NBAF) Task Force. Governor Sebelius issued
an executive order forming the Task Force, which is leading the effort to bring the
planned research laboratory to Kansas. Others in attendance included: Vice Chair
Congresswoman Nancy Boyda and Congressman Jerry Moran.

Parkinson Attend the 2007 International Pancake Days Activities
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson attended the
2007 International Pancake Days activities. The 58th annual celebration is an
international competition with Olney, England. During the festivities, Lieutenant
Governor Parkinson also visited the International Pancake Day Hall of Fame. Liberal
won this year’s race over the Olney runners.

Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson visited with Team
1108 Paola Panther Robotics students
who are involved with FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). The
program was founded to inspire young people’s interest in science and technology. This
is the 5th year that Team 1108 has been involved and they are a team of 26 students,
over a dozen mentors, parents, and a community that support the program. Team 1108 received
the National Rookie All Star Award in 2003; have won three regional chairmen awards,
and have been successful in encouraging the students to further their education and
career. Others attending the event included State Senators, State House Representatives
and Kansas Chamber Representatives.
Community Leaders and Residents From Paola Meet with the Lt. Governor
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson met with community leaders and residents of Paola
during the annual Legislative Breakfast and Forum. The Lieutenant Governor spoke
briefly about Kansas Bio Initiatives and the Kansas Energy Council. State Representative
Bill Feuerborn, 5th District, also attended the event.

Parkinson Tours Legends at Village West
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson and former Wyandotte County Unified Government Mayor
Carol Marinovich unveiled a Kansas “legends” audio walking tour at The
Legends at Village West. Marinovich is one of 80 “legends” featured
as part of the tour, marked by round plaques throughout the shopping center. As
the first woman mayor of Kansas City, Kansas, Marinovich deserved all the special recognition
she received for her outstanding service to her community. About 30 junior-high
school students from Eisenhower Middle School took the first audio walking tour which
coincided with the celebration of Kansas’ 146th birthday. The tour is free
to Legends patrons.

Lt. Governor Parkinson Tours the KCPL Wind Farm
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson toured the Kansas
City Power & Light Wind
Farm in Spearville, Kansas. Lieutenant Governor Parkinson is co-chair of
the Kansas Energy Council. The Spearville Wind Farm is one of the largest wind
producing operations in the state. The project consists of 67 GE 1.5
MW wind turbines. Construction began in April 2006, finished in August 2006 with the
formal opening in October 2006.

Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson Visited Hays High School
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson visited classrooms of Hays High
School including the student technology and industrial arts centers. The
Hays School District had just recently completed a major expansion program for new
classrooms, improved facilities, and curricular enhancements to provide the best services
to their students.

Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson spoke at the Hays Chamber of Commerce Luncheon
at the Hays Holiday Inn. Addie Homburg, Emergency Management Coordinator,
also presented a short program explaining “How Winter Weather Can Affect Your
Business.” Gina Riedel, Chamber Executive Director, briefly spoke along
with a representative from Sunflower Bank.
Kansas Ethanol, LLC Broke Ground for a New Ethanol Plant
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson spoke at the Celebration Centre in Lyons as Kansas
Ethanol, LLC broke ground for a new ethanol plant. The Lieutenant Governor and
others participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kansas Ethanol Plant earlier
that day.

Lt. Governor Tours Pat Roberts Hall
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson toured Pat Roberts Hall which houses Kansas
State University’s Biosecurity Research Institute. Lieutenant
Governor Parkinson was also given a tour of alternative energy projects at the Bioprocessing
and Industrial Value-added Program facility by Scott Rusk and visited with Megan Moser,
Editor in Chief of the K-State Collegian.

Parkinson Visits with Miss. Kansas
Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson visited with Ms. Kansas Michelle
Walthers,
Towanda, during her visit to the State Capitol. During her yearlong term, Miss.
Kansas organized and implemented a fundraising and renovation project for the Safe House
of Butler County which raised almost $6,000 in donations and cash. She also wrote
and directed a Children’s Musical, was Science Club Vice President/Treasurer,
was a Drum Majorette, and volunteered as a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters
and is a DARE Role Model.
Members of Wichita JROTC Meet with the Lt. Governor
Members of Wichita JROTC met with Wichita native Lieutenant Governor Mark Parkinson
during their visit to the State Capitol. The Wichita ROTC program currently includes
2,377 middle school and high school students. The ROTC cadets visit the Capitol each
year learning how government works and to meet legislators.
