James Lee Francisco
Former Lieutenant Governor of the State of Kansas (1991 - 1995)

James Lee Francisco was elected 43rd Lieutenant Governor of Kansas.

James was born October 10, 1937 in Lamar, Colorado.  During his professional career, Francisco worked in the aircraft industry, as a plastics engineer, in employee relations and as a counselor.  Hailing from Mulvane in Sumner County, he was elected into the Kansas House of Representatives in 1967 and served until 1972.  In 1973, he was elected to serve the 26th District as a Kansas Senator and served until 1991 including 2 special sessions, one in 1987 and one in 1989. He resigned from the Kansas Senate to become lieutenant governor in 1991.  During the 1990’s, he also served as Chairman of the Kansas Parole Board.

In 1958 he married Sharon Lynn Maddux. Today, he and his wife make their home in Lenexa, Kansas.
