James H. (Jim) DeCoursey Jr. was elected 36th Lieutenant Governor of Kansas.

James H. (Jim) DeCoursey Jr. was born in Kansas City, Kansas on July 7, 1932.  He received a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Kansas Law of School and practiced law for several years.  He also received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1956.  Before becoming lieutenant governor, Mr. DeCoursey served as a special assistant to the Governor and in various director and board positions in the banking and teaching professions.  He and his wife continue to make their home in Topeka, Kansas.
